Excelitas enhances OmniCure AC Series UV LED curing platform

The update features increased irradiance, improved uniformity, and expanded wavelength options for curing inks, coatings, and adhesives.

Excelitas has launched an enhanced version of its OmniCure AC Series UV LED curing platform, offering increased irradiance, improved uniformity and expanded wavelength options for curing inks, coatings and adhesives.

The updated portfolio includes the OmniCure AC8+, AC9+ and AC8+HD systems. The AC8+ provides irradiance of 10 W/cm², while the AC9+ delivers 14 W/cm². The AC8+HD provides peak irradiance of 15 W/cm² for applications requiring higher UV energy and dose. New 365 nm wavelength options are also available for the AC9+ and AC8+HD.

Designed for integration into new and existing production lines, the air-cooled systems feature a modular architecture that allows multiple UV LED heads to be combined for larger curing widths. Excelitas says its LED module-level control technology enables real-time optimization without taking the system offline, maintaining better than ±5% uniformity across the curing area.

“Our enhanced OmniCure AC Series reflects Excelitas’ continued commitment to innovation in UV LED curing technology,” says Peter Cop, director of product management at Excelitas. “Manufacturers are seeking curing solutions that deliver greater productivity, lower operating costs and long-term reliability while supporting evolving sustainability and regulatory requirements.”

According to Excelitas, the enhanced systems can reduce energy consumption by up to 60% compared with conventional curing technologies. The UV LED platform also eliminates mercury-containing lamps and ozone generation while providing longer LED operating life.

The systems incorporate advanced monitoring and process control and can be configured to accommodate varying process widths and irregular substrate contours.
